Hello. Killing some time by trying other insurance brokers. Admiral have offered to change the car on my current policy to my new Cupra.. thereby lowering my renewal quote, destined to reach me in March. Cheaper in the long-run, basically... ANYWAY.

I'm on Confused sodding about with mods and the like, getting some prices and I've stuck in my registration plate to allow it to locate my vehicle details. Problem is, it's come up with "LEON SE 20V" in the Model field.

Is this what should be shown, even for a Cupra? Or is Confused just being a little retarded? *Nightmares of Cupra-replica flash before my eyes..*

Should this be cause for worry or is this odd, but normal?

It should come up LEON 20VT CUPRA. Probably no cause for worry, this happens A LOT. Just make sure that the engine and chassis numbers on your V5 match those on the car for your own peace of mind.

Well confused has returned quotes as low as £600... that is literally £300 less than previous returns. :S

It's got full Face-lift Mk1 bodykit, 17s and the interior to match. Along with the larger front-discs etc. Multichanger and the like. So I doubt it's a replica, as I've momentarily feared.

But still :S What the hell :S

I'm going to HPi this right away!

Phew.

Thanks Cupra Ross, also. That's two places that say it's correctly registered as a Cupra. ugh. Bad feeling then.

Its definitely a Cupra mate. Confused don't have the best database in the world. You'll need to enter the car details manually instead of doing their number plate lookup. Quotes are going to rise though.

Yeh, they normally come back at about £890-£3000 :D

Shame I can't plead ignorance and accept a £600 quote tho :p

Ta again Ross. Put my mind at rest matey.

Several times lately I've heard Confused.com have got it wrong. If you do get a stonking deal don't assume its right until you have spoken to the insurer themselves.
