BKD Porous head - prevention?

Hi guys (and gals?),

Not long had my 2.0TDi BKD (Altea) and noticed it has used a bit of water, and oil. There's no mayo but having checked it's got an "A" revision head on it, so it's probably leaking internally I'd guess?

So, I've resigned myself to the fact that one day, probably in the very near future I'm going to have to have the head changed at vast expense on what was meant to be a reliable engined car :(

However, I want to know if I can extend the time before the inevitable happens? Does anyone know if these "head gasket fix" fluids coat the inside of the head enough to prevent it being as porous? Or am I just clutching at straws? Something like the Steel Seal Head Gasket Repair maybe?

Thanks in advance!

it may be two "problems" favourite places for water oil loss/mix is egr cooler and oil cooler worth checking if it saves a head renewal don't think porous heads are common on these

Thanks Cheshire, I'll look in to it. I'd heard the BKD engines were a bit rubbish (at least, the "A" revision) from what I've seen across the VAG forums.
