Yesterday I had a call from the dealer to tell me that I couldn't have the LCR I ordered a few weeks ago. Seat can't seem to make their mind up about what colours they are selling their flag ship car in!!!!! First I couldn't have black then I could now I am being told I can't. What the hell is going on......

It is fair to say that I am really hacked off. Has anyone else had the same issue?

looks like, going by the website red, white, yellow, dakota red, tribu yellow, silver, track grey and speed blue are only colours available

I was at a dealer the weekend who told me that their allocation was only 2 LCR this year and that they already had over 2 orders so it could be next year to get one, they said this was to maintain the exclusivity of the Leon and yet SEAT have sold British Gas hundreds of low spec Leons (in Speed Blue !), i have also looked at Scirocco but nobody wants to sell me one of them either...

I saw they had changed the website. Black was available on the website until a few weeks ago. When I went to place an order the dealer told me he couldn't order Black so I phoned Seat to find out what was going on and to advise them that the website was wrong. Then after a few days of discussion about what colours were available I was told I could actually order Black, so I paid my deposit and placed an order. Then yesterday the dealer got a call from Seat to say that I can't now get it in Black.

All the dealers say they have an allocation, if that was the case they wouldn't be offering nice discounts on them!!!

One reason why I won't order a Speed (British Gas) Blue one is as you stated they are punting it off on the low spec models so no exclusivity there.

I went to look at a new FR DSG at the weekend there and the salesman wouldn't even let me sit in the car.

What the actual f... It was a demonstrator aswell....

Ordered mine way back in December. The dealer was very clear on what colours were available.

Sounds like the dealer had the wrong info. At the very least you should get your deposit back. :)

I’ve only ever seen one speed blue Leon in MK (a FR), so the British gas thing is not a problem for me.

Hope you get something sorted out :)

SEAT UK want the car specified a certain way as we are aware with numerous additions, unique to the UK market. Factory build allocation is likely limited and the Cupra R though their flag-ship is still a low volume model.

Seems to me that the orders might not be coming in quite as quickly as the factory in Spain might like, it could well be that they are being selective on what and when they want to allocate the factory to produce.

At the end of the day SEAT UK are importers, as a subsidiary of the VW Group UK, the factory in Spain will ultimately be the ones to say yay or nay on build slots and options. But if that is the case then its a bit of an egg on face situation for the UK.

But I'll stress that's only my theory.

During August and September there is often a period of production shutdown which is to help reduce costs and keep stock levels down at the factory.

From the years of experience of hanging about here, I'd also say there are many dealers out there that do not school up too well on the information SEAT provide them.

Did you turn up in a clown outfit or summat!? Sounds rediculous, I agree.

My dealer let me take one of the salesmen's cars out on my own for the afternoon so I could so I could give it a proper test. So not letting customers get into a demo car isn't a universal trait.

Turned up smartly dressed as always.

Thought it was dead strange as when I bought my first Leon, I walked in, said I liked that one and the guy said well here's the key's take it a run(I was only 19 at the time!) and if you like it we can talk numbers. Which I did and bought it a few days after.(Bickets Seat in Kilmarnock)

This time the guy didn't seem interested at all. Needless to say I left in a hurry and wont be going back.(Seat in Seafield Edinburgh)
