I have black metalic paint on my beezer and it looks the dogs. However if you glance at it close up t certain angles you can see loads of slight scratches. Its done 6k before i got it so may have been taken though a car wash. Any ideas what i can do and does anyone else have this on the beezers. Is it just part of owning a black car???

cheers

part of the black car mate, some good polish will hide them a bit more. Know autoglym high resin polish is very good for hiding fine scratches.

My Zenith Grey Ibiza has hundreds of scratches and bad holograms on it - it's done 4.5k now - have owned it from new, washed with 2 bucket method, wash mitt, water magnet etc etc. Think they were there before I took delivery :(.

im the same mate, black magic and only done about 3k, noticed it a few months ago, just the joys of the colour, read somewhere that it can happen as part of the paint process in some cases, just carry on with the 2 bucket and dont make it any worse is my advice to you (thats what im doin anyway)

I'm going to get it professionally detailed as it's a pain in the backside. Especially now as the sun is coming out more often it looks terrible, especially after you've just washed it!!!

only real way to get them out is using a pc polisher lots of enthusiast detailers have them and car looks 10 times better when its been done. its not just this colour either mine being red had bad swirls

Yep my black car shows up the scratches and the swirls really bad :( but i really should get it detailed and have my wheels refurbed aswell. But it all comes down to having the wonga to do it :(

i had the whole car mopped and waxed at work. gets rid of all them little scratches but give it a couple of carefull washes and they appear rapidly ul never keep black mint!

ovni yellow does not suffer from the swirls hardly at all

fooking excelent paint IMHO and even stone chips vanish with a blob of touch up paint and a flat with t cut

:p :D ;) :) :funk:  [B)]

shame its bitch to match when respraying pannels! not a painters favorite colour to spray

had the corner of the rear bumber puffed in by a bodyshop on my old ovni mk3 and that was an absolute pukka job for £100

the guy who did it said that yellow was a well easy colour to match

Ditto the Clearkote VM hand glaze suggestion - did a fine job on my old golf.

The only real way is to use a PC or a rotary (if you are brave) - coupled with some menz polish (VAG paint is a tough cookie) it does a great job.
