Black roof to come? and a few photo's

Heres a few photo's of my car now its all done finally got it how i wanted it. But im thinking about a gloss black roof and spoiler, seen it on a few cars now from factory standard and looks good, anybody got any photos of one with a black roof.. apart from a black car Been quoted £ 180 from a mercedes/vw/seat/audi approved insurance repairer which was the chepeast quote for the work.

I think bonnet would be too much but roof and spoiler would look good.
Would they be sprayed or the vinyl put over instead.
Also i thought your FMIC was a custom job not a forge kit as the logo on the front shows

I've been looking into this too mate. From what I've read the best option is black vinyl. It is cheaper than painting, and completely reversable. 5yr outdoor sign type vinyl seems to be the stuff to use; might be worth contacted some local graphics shops?

I agree!

Painting it makes the car highly unsaleable, and opens you up to it being done badly, or the returning to stock being done badly.

ive looked into the black vinyl but the sign place said wouldnt be able to do it because of the shape of the roof how it curves down at the front into the window would cause a problem and the vinyl wouldnt sit flat on the shape of it.
i dont know if another company would be able to do it though, i havnt heard of many places who do this sort of stuff so would have to look into it. would be better as its reversable and i dont think that the black roof would put people off a sale too much as i dont think it would look out of place and most people would like it..

Its perfectly feasable mate, iv had a couple of prices now so dont get fobbed off with places that say they cant do it!

Anyone who says they can't do it are just really poor at what they do.

Vinyl can be heated and is very flexable so it can pretty much be applied to most shapes.

Put it this way, how can the do whole cars if they can't do a poxy little roof of a Leon.

Jwfcms, how low have you got your car? Do you have issues with the driveshaft and ARB catching? I'm asking because I've just bought and fitted my coilovers and wouldn't mind going a bit lower, just interested how low is too low on an LCR.

Also have you got uprated ARBs?

I think uprated ARB's only apply on LC's....i think. I was going to ask the same thing though about height as it does sit very nice

dont need to do anything with the anti roll bars on the lcr they dont loop over the driveshafts the same as the cupra or golf. or mk4 platform cars. i dont know exactly how low it is just lowered it on coilovers, i havnt gone as low as i could because it just looks too low sometimes and i highered the rear up a tiny bit less than a cm, just so its level with the front. plus they even tho the tyre isnt close to the arch or low to the arch the floorpan/subframe/rear axle etc is alot lower to the floor when you look underneath, the splitter can catch the speedhumps even when it isnt lowered so just dont go too low and rip the botom of the car out

im having mine roof done in black vinyl... was ment to be last week but cancelled due to work commitments, place im going with charge £80 and gaurentee against shrinking bubbles etc etc

thats a good price tbh, i may have this done... platinum cuprs, will they be able to cover wing mirrors aswell? would like them the same colour....
