Hi guys,

I have an 04 Seat Leon TDI 150 and I love it but just experienced a bang, the car lurched then lost power, became loud and kicked out thick black smoke. I've search this forum and apparently this is due to a hose blowing off, a common problem with this car. I have managed to identify the hose that's disconnected (it has some oil on it, is this normal?). I tried to reconnect it but it popped and came back off again during acceleration.

The problem is I can't identify the correct part from the diagram (please see thread 204844 for the diagram) and I don't want to risk driving to a dealer/specialist incase it causes other problems...

The pipe in question is the one behind the left hand side fog light (underneath the battery)... can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Thanks

its the common hose by the sound of it the locating lugs break
ive just replaced this on mine
if you speak to trade parts specialist (VW)
on the parts catalogue its listed incorrect
the hose is shown as the top hose if i recall it was about £43
explain to them its the lower intercooler to hard pipe hose

Thanks for the help mate.. I'm gonna phone my local parts supplier today so will update when/if I've got it sorted.

Ok, so I called the local dealers on Friday and tried to order the blown seal (#8 on that diagram) but they only sell the whole hose (hose #4 on the diagram which as towcester vag said was incorrectly pictured as going into the top of the intercooler). Cost me £45, picked it up yesterday and fitted it this morning.

So far cars been fine, just like nothing had happened.. success :-D
