I had it on my golf tdi about a year ago. Turbo blew just like you describe. If I remember correctly it was a new turbo, intercooler and exhaust system. No idea why they changed all that but never asked as it was warranty work. Doesnt sound cheap though

The oil seals in the suck side of the turbo have failed and the turbo has sucked the oil from the sump and attempted to run on it.

Bad news mate

Diesel engines are strong engines so All being well after a replacement turbo or at least a clean out and new seals in the old one.

An oil change and you're done.

Fingers crossed for you mate.

Do you have a remap? If you do you could be in for a big bill.....................

Well when you have a blown turbo they look very very hard for remaps, chips, tuning boxes, non standard air filters and all sorts.

I reckon you shouls be fine for a warranty repair.

oh man..... i dont think it will as its only a panel filter dont really add any power gains

Stealers and most dealers are useless, they never check the air filter even after they charge you for doing so!

I know someone who's turbo went kaput after having a map on only a few weeks, stealer done all the warranty work and even had to have authorisation form the area manager as the car only had a few days of the original warranty remaining. It was all fixed, new turbo & exhaust etc and they even stamped the book for the oil change too!
