For me it's the second time I have used it - 2 500ml bottles.

I'm only half finished my 2nd bottle. The first bottle was used 3 months ago.

I'm going to put 4 bottles a year into her and see how she goes.

It doesn't seem to smoke when it's warm while driving and even under hard acceleration I don't see smoke behind me. But even when I travel the 8 miles to work I can smell oil burning. And there's visible blue emmissions.

mines simpy on tick over after a few mins of idling , non driving , like its buring oil ,

wonder if its to do with recirc and getting too much back pressure forcing oil from engine

It sounds as if it's taking time for oil to build up and then it's burnt. Could this be valve stem seals? I think they would mean a lot of smoke on start up, more the longer it's left without running, and blue smoke nearly always.

But what I find interesting is that when I start mine up in the morning, it's ok for about 3/4/5 secs then I can hear what sounds like pressure building up and then out comes the bluer smoke. This could simply be the emmissions slowly filling up the exhaust pipe and back box and then finally exiting the exhaust to a bewildered driver!

I'm interestd in seeing how we both get on with sorting this, but I think we both agree - a good clean out of pipes - intake, intercooler etc is a must regularly enough.

yes need to get on with the cleaning , egr off again and cleaned

boost pipes oil breather pipes , fuel filter changed again

I gave the egr a litttle clean twice with it still on - this isn't the greatest idea, I found out, because a lot of what I clean goes into the engine then, but still, it's better it gets sucked in and burned off!

Were you able to take off the EGR with the bonnet up and the car on the ground or did you lift the car or use a pit.

I live away from home and I no longer have the luxury of a well- equipped garage!

The boost pipes would have to be accessed from under the car? I have tried to access them from above and it's fairly tight.

You can take a quick look in by removing the short pipe coming out of it - just pull up the ring clips, takes 2 secs.

I have cleaned mine first 2 weeks ago and then agen last week with a toothbrush and kerosene with it still on and it didn't look or feel too bad when I cleaned it out, but I want to take it off this weekend. I'll buy 5 litres of kerosene and use some of it to wash and i'll throw a litre into the tank to clear out the engine as kero has higher octane level so it will burn up cacked on crap, this, along with a good dose of redex should clean her out. But preventative action is needed all the time! There's always something!
