Interesting. Wonder if its a logistical screwup or if your oem map is new to them? Very frustrating for you tho!

Indeed it was

I waited until lunchtime today and gave them a call and apparently when they reset the unit they forgot to switch some setting on the auto server for my serial number so nothing happened.. No big deal just a day lost.

So I went through the process again and this time the hand unit did much more and the file was sent. Within about 10 seconds I had a text and an email saying that the file was ready. I reconnected, downloaded and went down to the car to upload, which was a success, unfortunately I had to get back to work so was not able to test drive till home time.

I had a fairly sedate drive home as its mostly motorway but I could feel straight away that the car feels a little more responsive low down and there is a noticeable turbo hiss and whoosh from the wastegate on and off throttle at about 3k.

I then took a detour through some country roads I know well and gave it the beans :drool: its quite a lot quicker, but the thing I like the most is that the delivery is very smooth. I have had several Japanese turbo cars in the past and when the boost was upped the cars power delivery always became much more aggressive, but its not like this with the bluefin (though I don't know what boost level they raise it to?) but I am used to some very powerful cars and I would question the claims of a 50bhp increase, but never the less it does still feel much better and probably the way it should have come out of the factory.

So overall I am very pleased and I will be booking a session at a rolling road to see what the real output is now.

Nice one Nigel! My mate had an early Scirocco 2.0FSI and he chose Bluefin so he could set it back to stock if needed - I drove it and it was very smooth, but not as quick as my Cupra...

Remember, the Leon (atleast my fr) is pretty lardy. Good 3 fat blokes heavier than my old celica. Nicer like, but heavier.

Glad the bluefin went well. Think I'll talk to them about a second hand unit vs brand new. I really like their warentee, as that is one area I was dubious about on my 3k old car...
