Surely the lesson here is.....

Buy cheap, get cheap

Spend that little extra and get so much more quality!

Miltek/Supersprint are the only 2 proven worthwhile exhaust systems for LCR

You wana hear mine. I have a BF on the way. I'll profabably fit it myself. Your right in what you say mitchy but who else sells down pipes for the LCR.

Could this explain my strange whistle on full chat! How would you know its gone as i dont want to get all the way up there for them to sort it and theres nothing wrong?

Have they admited its a problem with the system for the LCR?

The havent admitted anything, i was just talking to the mechanic who was tellin me about the wrong weld. If you can get under the car, he U bend is quite clearly visible as is the weld, you can tell something is wrong just by looking at it.

Quality of the exhaust i suppose.

You buy cheap, you get cheap! Companies such as powerflow etc have been around for years and have had a lot of bad press, mainly coming from cars like novas/saxos etc. All young chavvy boyracers tend to have a powerflow exhaust hanging from their souped up 1.2 novas.

Supersprint has a lifetime guarantee and is designed and developed in Italy, it is imported into the UK hence why its the dearest out the bunch. Im sure miltek also has a lifetime guarantee and so many people have got the miltek system for it to live upto its good reputation.

Blueflame has also been slated to death on here, they made the first batch of A+M i believe, and there was uproar on this forum about them! They released a 2nd batch under there own brand name at a cheap price and again there has been problems!

Better stick to brands you know and that have a good reputation, its the same for remaps, you should only really touch Revo/Jabba/APR/AMD and CC. There are plenty of others about like e-maps that are half the price but they have not been tried and tested 50000+ miles, all the companies above have!

At the end of the day the old chiche is correct, buy cheap, get cheap, buy twice!

it "seems" that blueflame exhausts only really appeared for the LC/LCR quite recently - and getting 5 or 6 people with complaints in such a short time is what is worrying people.

Supersprint/milltek have problems, every manufacturer will, but its a much smaller ratio of problems to number sold. At the end of the day its down to reputation - FAR more people are happier with their supersprint/millteks than the blueflame customers are, so thats why u get more people recommending them.

I fitted my own and no probs to date (apart from the recurring nightmares of that w/e due to lcr exhausts being a git to fit!)

On mine the inside of the DP bend was tig welded then the rest of the exhaust was mig welded. I'd always assumed they'd changed shifts half way through making it and the new bloke couldnt be arsed, but i suppose this blowing issue is a better reason!

I thought the a+m ones were similar but 2.5" catback instead of 2.75" and 200 cell cat instead of 100 to be quieter. So blueflame told me when i asked anyway. Never looked at one underneath but the ones i've heard are quieter than mine.

Original exhausts were made by a company called ZEX in Cardiff. 2nd Batch were made by BF and i'm surprised there were probs as they are very experienced manufactures but since i didn't have one of these fitted its difficult to comment.
Most of the BF zorsts i've seen look very good quality. I can't believe they cocked the welding process up.

They BF systems look far better than the old AM ones and i would be rfeally suprised if a manufacturing company like them made a **** up like that as they have been welding for years.

The crack would explain my whistle but i dont seem to be loosing much power? just working the turbo more?
