Well i think a Pipercross filter clean kit may be better as thats a closer match to the material thanm the k&n kit isnt it? Or is it as ive not had this unit apart?????

tbh i would have thought all kits would have been good enough, but thats a good idea scott... get a foam cleaning kit (piperx/ram air etc) rather than a metal-gauze K&N/green type.

My BMC has just arrived today

I take it you have to cut the long metal thing to extend the bmc out abit to fit the air feed

Which is great as I don't have anything that could cut metal

if u change it round when u pull the bonnet off the catch it will lift itself up! ;)

Hi guys, does anyone know how much of a bhp increase you can get from the BMC on the normal Cupra.

By the way the front end on that little lupo looks mean!

Not much mate 5-6bhp probably.

Sounds good and gives better throttle response and allows the engine to breath better up the top end where the turbo begins to run out of puff.

So taking account the extra insurance and the cost of the thing, its probably not worth the bother just yet then?

Yeah, that seems like the right price, which is why im not sure its worth it. probly better putting the £180 toward some nice drilled and grooved disks to really set the wheels and calipers off!

Im gonna be spending my dollar on a remap instead, the parts tuning option is far to pricey for the return. Maybe one day, but id get a new exhaust before i stuck on an induction filter anyway, after reading this thread.

It seems unanimous that the only real bonus is the under bonnet looks and sound... lets face it, if it makes your car a little bit more responsive, you can probably get the same performance gains by practicing your driving!

So thats sorted it for me, unless I find £180worth of BMC vouchers I wont be bothering with one.

have fun guys, dont drive to fast, dont do drugs and dont stay up late!

Theyre standard fit on the Lupo's matey ;) I've not touched it

Duno if mine works opposite, but it lifts itself straight up, think my bonnet only weighs about 10kg if that so it flies up :D ,the joys of having an all aluminium front end:funk:

Off topic here - Tom, can you get a seat arosa conversion for the front end of your lupo. I dont mean to sound like a c*nt, but I think the front end would look amazing with the arosa headlamps.

Erm:confused: it could be done but why would i do that?It would involve alot of work as the GTI has flared arches too

Each to their own i spose though mate

I could go to a SEAT dealership and just buy an Arosa, its the same car underneath, just the front ends are different.Obviously you can't get an Arosa GTi though:blink:

Which Arosa are you thinking?the mk1 or mk2?

Plus if i was to change the "front ends" my car would weigh more as the GTI has all aluminium panels and bonnet at the moment.

Everything you say is true my friend, I just remember my dad having an arosa, my guess is mk1. And when i saw the arosas front end compared to the lupo, i always thought it looked meaner! please dont think Im being a c*ck here and dissing your car, because Im not! I think that lupo looks the nuts! I just prefer the arosa front end and was wandering as a matter of interest more than anything else.
