Back in January Admiral actually say'd I'd be getting a refund if I was swapping my (then) Astra H 1.7 CDTI for the Boc! I forget how much it was they were refunding now but I had to regrettably inform them I had to wait a painstaking while for the car :(

Then the delivery coincided with my renewal date (Handy?) except now my quotes seemed to have exploded!

I think there is something funny going on here... :D

Yeah insurance companys are good at telling you one thing, then a few months later something completely different! :ban:

Elephant seem quite good, they do a 10 month policy which is cheaper, and if you have no claims in the 10 months they'll give you a full years no claims bonus.

Yea that is good.. Its only about £100 more for the full year (for me anyway), i pay that so i have cover the the full year. But choice is yours....

Elephant quotes me £558 for a boc and £332 for the Cupra...:shrug:

I phoned them and told them the reg number, they said it was a Cupra so i corrected them and said it was a Bocanegra.. the bloke said to me that the reg number says Cupra so it will be fine like that.

I rang my insurance before to try and get a quote for changing over to a cupra.

They said because of my age they can't insure me on that vehicle!
I'm with aviva through insureyourmotor.com.

Admiral quote me £1132 to insure a cupra.

that aint too bad for a young driver tbh, after you get your years no claims discount, it will go down, plus ur have an extra year experience...

I'v already got 2 years driving and NCB. The thing is now if i do go and buy one before Jan i will have to cancel this insurance and I'll lose the no claims! [:@]

Well I've done some more market comparison and no change in quotes yet - maybe when my renewal comes... :p

Ok so after an hour going through the multi car policy with Admiral, and with me and the mrs who individually have 14 years no claims each and my sone who has two years, Admiral quote is £500 dearer than individual policies with Tesco insurance. All are identical to the Admiral ones so it just shows you that the " Spin the wheel of insurance lottery" is alive and kicking!

TBH i'm glad its 99% resolved an i'll be going with Tesco as the whole process of looking for 3 individual quotes all at once is a complete ball ache.

Just confirmed with Admiral, Boc still group 14 and Cupra group 4..
Moving to Tesco...

I dont understand how they have it at group4 because they quote me £900 for one and I'm sure if I got a quote on some group 4 Nissan micra or something it would be a he'll of alot less!
