Bolt under my accelerator pedal?

Hi guys was hoovering out my lcr today and noticed an odd white grey plastic bolt under the accelerator pedal! Is this a speed limiter or something else? It looks factory fitted as it fits in with a plastic interior mould... anyone know what this is?

Meant to be there, prevents stretching of the cable and to prevent the throttle opening a dangerous amount.

Just a stop for the pedal. Not a speed limiter, that would be done in the ECU if it were fitted at all. The pedal is kept above the carpet and the floor of the footwell, reduces any possibility of it getting caught on something in there.
