does anyone know of anywhere (apart from autobra's) to get a bonnet bra for mk1 leon? i've been looking all over and can't believe that ONLY one place sells the damn things!? none on e-bay either?!

Sorry mate, I can't help with the buying either.

Is it just for show use or would it be on all the time?

The reason I ask is because if it's the latter, whilst it's on, the part of the bonnet that is covered is not going to be open to the elements such as UV rays etc. Therefore you will eventually end up with a slight different coloured bonnet.

don't know about where u live but there are places that will do custom jobs for any car, u can select the color and they take the measurements and they do the rest, look around auto shops in your area... good luck and don't keep it on for for then a few days or u'll have color differences due to elements exposure

I just got mine from german ebay from a shop, including shipping it worked out to be £43 much cheaper than autobra.

i had a bonnet bra on my corsa i left it on for 7months no damage to the paint or anything got it from ebay did the job of protecting the paint very well, the only thing i noticed was the engine bay temp goes up 1 or 2 degrees wearing one

If you don't mind me asking, what is the point? Genuine question, not taking the piss, I've just never understood the point of these. I (personally) think that a car with stone chips in the bonnet looks better than one with a bra on. No offence meant to anyone who has one, or wants one

because when you take it off you dont have lots of stone chips

I have one on my Mk4 Ibiza. I commute 60miles a day on the A3 and go through the tunnel roadworks at Hindhead both ways (bad for crap on roads sometimes.) I have some stone chips and don't want any more...

Plus I think it looks great!
