Do you mean the catch that loops over under the bonnet as this only seems to move slightly then stops as though there is something stopping it

if by someway that a sarcastic comment then you ain't gonna get much more help, but if your genuinely stuck use a bit of ingenuity, 2 scew drivers?! Just try to pick up the latch and slide it out the way, keep trying, you'll get it!

Well after my great advice on this topic, went to check my oil before my camping trip and low and behold, bonnet moved up about half an inch and the stops, solid!
Can't get the bloody thing open had WD40 in it for ever and pulled the bit that comes out the grill with pliers and just can't seen to release the bad boy!
The cable hasn't snapped pretty sure its just the catch thats stuck.

Anyone got any other ideas?
Quickly?

Bonnet Woes

Right, added a bit onto another thread that wasn't totally relevant.

So my question still remains unanswered.

Is there a way of opening the bonnet without pulling the black "bit" that comes from the grill.

Problem is, my bonnet pops up about an half an inch when you pull the release inside and then doesn't move from there, pulled the black "bit" from the bonnet hard with pliers but still can't release it, half a can of WD40 and the same method again and its still stuck solid.
Anyone any ideas?

pull out the center grill might give you access to the latch if your totally stuck,

ok, spoke to local SEAT dealer guy in the workshop says that there a bstard to get to when this happens, mentioned pull the black tag at the grill as hard as possible - pliers required!
If it comes loose the great, job done, if not then it'll just pull till it breaks off.

If it breaks then i'm no worse off still bonnet stuck - quoted 150quid to get it open (parts and labour - new bonnet catch required)
If it works then just needs loads and loads of lube!

What do we think - pull?

Is there a small gap at all. If you can try and rock the bonnet near the catch at the same time as pulling the black clip (might be better with 2 people). Mine seemed to stick a little the other day the black clip did not fully extend. I pushed and pulled on the bonnet a little and it popped out fully then the boot sprang open. I'm sure you've tried all this. Nothing else to lose by breaking the catch if you have to.

****UPDATE****
Someone help, the cars booked into SEAT on Wednesday morning to get the bonnet done, new latch and break open this one,

Its been stuck done for about a month now and the car is due a service.
Problem is that the Oil light came on today!

BAD I know!

Luckily the car was a about a mile from home and limped it home.
Can someone please tell me how to get this bloody thing open?
I've tried the pulling it like hell and its just not coming!

Can the grill come off to offer up more room to look in?
Any Help at all!

You might have to decide what's more important, using the car and toping up with oil or breaking/pulling out the grill?. With the grill out you should be able to see more of the latch.
Seat on Wednesday might end up doing this anyway as I can't see how it can be accessed any other way?. It's not the best release mechanism I've ever seen on a car.
The leaver that pops out looks a weak point to start with.

OK got it!
Managed to use a long pair of screw drivers and release the mechnism, so skint knuckles and very little in the way of finger nails my car is now topped back up with oil and running sweet!
Wasn't actually that low, just on the MIN< mark.
And my 150quid i saved can go on getting the car a nice bonnet strip (rubber thing) stop that amount of **** clogging up the latch again, a good bit of WD40 and a nice Brembo refurb!

God i hate SEATS but i can't let her go!
