Hey guys wondering if could get some one to maybe post a pic of there bonnet catch as mines not working.

The bonet closes properly but wont catch and you can just lift the bonnect up and flick the catch and its open.

Tried having a look at it but not sure what its supposed to look like so if could get a pic could see whats wrong on mine

Cheers

when i had a small shunt to the front of my car the same thing happened. Once cross member etc and everything was replaced i didn't have th problem. It was if the catch had moved out of place slightly, and meant the bonnet couldn't lock!

Could it be a case of just retracing your steps and seeing if its out of place?

the bonnet release cable is a 2 piece jobbie on the ibiza, the join being behind the water bottle, and once its upset its a pita to put right, i lost a bonnet by folding it back while driving down the road cos mine wasnt working right. ive often wondered could a mk2 one be retro fitted if its one piece.

mine doesnt click down properly if you just drop the bonnet down. you have to literally push down hard on the bonnet and you will hear it click.
