well im running about 320-330 in the sti now so i have reason to raise it. that and the fact i have a cf bonnet with a vent at the front and by raising the back i catch more air.

however it is a cosmetic thing but will allow heat to escape.

and each to their own as they say

Only thing that worries me with this mod is that you lose the seal that goes between the bonnet and the engine bay by raising the back

on the local chav scene were i live i was taking to a couple of lads and they bought this up and he said apprantly its adds an extra 5bhp at this point i broke down crying with laughter

I thought is was 5-7bhp and about 10mph top end due to the improved airflow over the bonnet...

at this moment in time i am. but dont forget i have an sti top mount which are much better and ok for upto 350. if i go fmic then i will have issues with lag if im not running enough bhp.

but have no fear this is on the cards. but at the moment my next things are fuel pump. injectors and headers. in any order. than fmic will be defo

You noticed much heat soak with it now the weather is getting warmer obviously the scoop helps but still never good if sitting in a bit of traffic... used to feel it in my old pug 1.9 tdi nowhere near the same league but used to heat soak really bad in traffic etc...did you remove the decals in the end...???

I might do this now. Looks **** hot

Joke, still not keen on it! if it was for a performance reason like Bill, then fair enough. Looks don't count for anything when racing around a track ;)

regardless as to whether or not your on a track its still a performance change. allowing heat to escape is good,. and you of all ppl know this.:D

thats the reason why i did it.

its all about the performance baby!

remove the rubber seal that is on the scuttle pannel, did this on mine and you can see the heat escape up the windscreen in traffic and your bonnet doesnt look gay either

i will be doin this 2 mine as it gets so hot under the bonnet and as the turbo is at the back it makes sense really, and im sure that the hot turbo was the cause for me having to buy new windscreens on my old black cupra as they cracked in the same place both times right in the middle jus under the wipers

mr_d what did u use 2 lift it at the back? my m8 used 2 nuts on his uno turbo but i think ill have 2 use something that looks a bit better than that lol
