Bonnet Struts

Quite a nice little mod this, how easy are we thinking though? I'm not that handy with a spanner

I fitted these over two years ago, took a pic of the racing TDI's and copied them!! Using gas struts from a Arosa tail gate, but the doggy thing is the fitting to the bonnet has to be strong because compressed the gas struts have a LOT of energy!!!, you also have to cut away the seal at the back of the engine compartment/wing so twhen the bonnet is closed the gas strut sits flat etc.

What do you mean by the seal, greatly appreciated if you could post some pics mate

Not as easy as we thought I'm afraid. Not many installation guides also. The only thing I know, we'd need the gas struts part no. 1M5827550B as mentioned earlier by Andrew. But that's far as I know....

The push button start is from a HondaS2000. There is a thread on here somewhere that I posted details. I found a how-to guide from an Audi guy and its exactly the same for our cars.

What diagram do you need extra? pm your email addy and let me know what you need that isnt on the thread I posted
