Boost Leak

Does any body have or know where to find a step by step guide for testing for boost leaks??

You need something which will fit tightly to the mouth of the TIP (turbo inlet pipe). Some have used tennis balls, hair spray cans, an expandable bung, I actually used the end side of a water bottle. You just need to make sure it is tight and no air is being leaked from here. Then disconnect feed into n75 valve and apply air via this hose, connect both remaining n75 pipes together. Take off the oil filler cap and pressurise the system to around 10 psi as you do not need too much pressure. Then its simply a question of listening for any air being lost in the system

thread revival.... this the best way to check for boost leaks?? will this chec all vac hoses etc?

what do people use to supply the air pressure?

seen a specific kit on the bay but its 35 quid, so if diy is possible\?

A tip we use on pipe services for testing for leaks is to use water with washing up liquid. Brush it around the joints and it will bubble if theirs air coming out -helps spot the leak. Can't help on kits sorry.
