Boot Leak - Fix found! Hopefully ;)

Hi all,

Does anyone know the part number for the passenger side plastic boot hinge cover for an LCR? I've put up with a damp boot for a while now but its about time it got sorted.

Do you mean the one that your parcel shelf mount sits in?

No mate, its the plastic pieces that surround where the boot hinge meets the roof. I've got some bits on order so i'll post up the part numbers as i receive the bits. Hopefully i can get this damm leak fixed!

I know this leak has plagued many people.....

I think i've finally found where the leak in my boot is coming from. After removing the plastic cover plate on the near side boot hinge it was pretty obvious where the water was getting in.

Near the left hand mounting hole for the plastic plate you'll notice a hairline crack in the seal. Its like a putty almost, i've lifted some off to make the seal more obvious for you.

I'll clean this up and re seal it with some silicone and hopefully that will be the end of it. If you do this remember to silicone around the new plastic clips when you replace the cover.

hello did this cure your leak i have the same on my lc traced the leak up to this point by taking panels off inside boot great picture by the way really helpfull i will get a new hinge cover and rivets sealer etc and have a go cheers bud

when I had my lc I have a leak into the boot and it was getting in through a crack in the sealer where the roof meets the c pilar. I cleaned it up and re sealed with carbond which cured the leak.
