I had the critically panned FN2, it was my favourite car i have ever owned. Not fast by any means in a straight line but vtec and the fun factor was addictive and even though it was not as good a handling car as the ep3 as it has a read beam it still went round the bends better than any car i have owned.

the EP3 must of been mighty as the FN2 was still extremely capable.

Thing of the past n/a everything has went turbo. Would love an ep3 / fn2 again one day when nobody has a clue what vtec is.

had a ek9 back in the day with a teg engine in it. Wish i still had that car too :(

Why did you decide on a 1.5 TSI Leon from a civic type R?!

Bought a house in 2018 so the insurance / fuel costs were an additional cost i wasn’t prepared to pay anymore.

plus the girlfriend was pregnant so wanted a safe and reliable 5 door family car. Life got in the way basically. The girlfriend doesn’t drive so something she could get insured on. Trust me the leon is about as uninspiring as it gets and is just a tool to go a to b for the time being

if i had my way i would have a new fk8 in milano red (thats the goal in a few years)

This!

I had an EP2 for 6 years, never missed a beat and it was trashed to within an inch of its life everywhere it was driven.

Still miss that car, jap cars in general tend to be very reliable, I have had a VW, an audi, a seat and a Vauxhall since for a lot less time and they have all had their share of problems.

On the contrary, mine is brilliant build quality touch wood. But mine is a 2016 so maybe they cared more then. Hope you get it sorted!
Think it's a lottery with any model year. I seem to have hit the jackpot with the MY19 as have none of the creaks, rattles, condensation, heat issues etc others moan about. Other than having the cosmetic wheel defect on delivery everything else has been absolutely great. I'm constantly making excuses to drive the thing as love it! Being Keyless the boot unlocking thing isn't an issue as it unlocks with the handle as long as you have the key nearby. Genuinely surprised by the quality as I was expecting it to be crap based on some comments in this forum.
