Boot remaining locked.

The boot of my 2012 Ibiza will only open intermittently with the central locking. More often than not it remains locked, this is a puzzle that my garage has failed to solve so very frustrating. They have replaced the handle and checked the electrics but no result. As there is no other mechanism for opening the boot it's currently not being used.

I have mine set so that the initial unlock will unlock only the drivers and then I have to press the unlock again within a couple of seconds to unlock the passenger door and boot.

If you have an OBD device it may be worth checking the auto locking and unlocking setting.

Just found this vid they may be of some use to you,

I’ve read about water leaking from the rear wiper jet fittings onto the boot lock mech itself causing electrical problems and corrosion.

Have you had the plastic boot lid cover off yourself by any chance?
