Noticed when cleaning the car that the seam at the top of the boot where it meets the roof looks as if it has been painted over as it is a slightly different colour. It is the same on both sides. Does anyone elses look like this? Just wondering if the seam had started to crack and the dealer has painted over it. It's on an estate model.

To be honest mate, I would get that looked at. Haven't received my Leon yet, but I don't think I would be very happy with that.

Cheers Andrew. Will be interested to know although with yours being black it might not be as obvious. Doesn't look right to me.

Looks like it has been painted over with a touch up brush which is the wrong colour. Thing is not sure what the fix would be. Paint looks like it has cracked slightly at the seam. Dealer I bought the car off is 300miles away!

That's a clear water ingress concern. The panel gap looks like it's not been sealed in production.

How long have you had the car / when was it registered?

Went into my local seat dealer who agrees it doesn't look right but they don't have a bodyshop. Spoke to the dealer who I bought the car from and sent them pictures. They confirmed the car has not had any paintwork done by them. They reckon it must have beem done by Seat? They've given me the details of a vag approved bodyshop who can examine it and send a reprt to vag. My concern is they'll claim I've touched it up and won't take it further. I'm almpst tempted just to touch it up with the correct colour myself as I can't be bothered with hassle but if I do that then I'll have no chance of any paintwork claim in future if there are any other problems.

If you get any bull:censored: from the dealers just contact Consumer Direct and they will look at your case.

Car is 7months old and I've owned it for a month

I would raise this with Seat UK anyway. If the gaps been missed in production (which is an easy mistake to make) then it needs feedback to Martorell.

I'm not sure how it could be construed its something you or a dealer did. Who often repairs their rear roof header?

It'll be an easy fix anyway. Bit of sealer and touched up with a bit of paint.

Good luck.
