My dad did that with our scenic, the last scenic was a petrol and he just filled it up from empty with petrol.

We did about 10 miles and noticed it was getting rougher. So we coasted into the side and got towed to a garage.

Drained the fuel and put some diesel it, it coughed for a while and there was loads of smoke, but that cleared and all was fine.

2 years and 12K later and it was still fine. Im sure you wont have done any lasting damage :)

It did work and I can notice a difference, the radio however did not loose its code although the battery was unplugged for an hour, two warning lights were lit, the steering indicator and the ESP indicator, both went out on the run. The clock neeed seting and the odometer was reset.

The radio in the Altea does not require a code as it is permanantly coded to the car and won't work in another unless reprogrammed by the dealer. The ESP and steering indicator will be the sensors relearning their position. If you have problems with the steering there is a procedure to recalibrate it if you do a search.

Glad to hear it was okay mate.

My dad did same sort of thing in his S Class Merc, the first time he had to put fuel in it. He only put a couple of quid of petrol in though befroe he realised and the car was fine after a flush!

OK so if it does not need a Code, why is mine asking for me to enter one? Dealer replaced the battery without maintaining voltage on system so I am stuck with a unit begging for the Code
