Hi everyone, trying to fit the Hel braided brake lines and i notice that the thread on the original brake pipe on the car doesnt go fully in to the braided line, i measured the depth of the braided line where the pipes thread goes and the thread is longer so its clearly not possible to go all in. Im pretty sure its fine this way as its as tight as it can get but its brakes and i just need to double check if im missing something. Cheers

As above, as long its tightened right down to create a seal it should be fine.
Just make sure to locate the new hose in the chassis bracket fully first as its notched and needs to be fully pushed upwards or you won't get the retainer horseshoe clip back on.

Thank you both guys. Now regarding the horseshoe clip, i was actually trying to find a way to get the hose seated properly in the chassis bracket but its too small and no rubber seal or anything came with it. The one from the original hose doesnt come off, do you know where i can get one? Cheers.

It shouldn't be, it should be a snug fit and slide in on a machined groove on the fitting.
The horseshoe clip then pushes into the slot to stop it pulling back out.

I'll get to the garage today and see if i can find any groove on the fitting.

Sorry yeah just noticed that above, I'm surprised you're having issues with those as they're very reputable.

What car exactly and are they the standard brakes?

Cupra R and Brembo brakes, i was expecting some rubber seal or something that would make it sit tight in the bracket.

Ok in that case I'm very familiar with the installation process as I've just swapped mine over to some Goodridge hoses on my own LCR.
There aren't any other parts required and that fitting should be tight in that bracket.
I'm wondering whether you have the right hoses now?
Do your new hoses go from the Brembo hardline or directly into the caliper?
Also does your hose have a collar half way along to slot into the strut mounted bracket?

They go straight into the callipers as the hard pipe on my Brembos wasnt useable anymore. And they do have the fitting that goes into the strut.

I have bought some braided hoses from badger5 and can see I'm going to encounter a similar issue where the hose connection to the upper hard line doesn't have a slot or groove like the original hose does for the horse shoe clip. So what do people do with these braided hoses?
Leave them hanging?
Get creative with tie wraps?
OR something else?

New hose next to original OEM:

These ones look like the have a more "OEM" connection:

OK, I think I worked it out. The hoses were supplied with these clips, which I guess do the same thing (fixing the hose) but in a slightly different way.
I'd still be interested to hear other people's thoughts.
