Hi guys
Thinking of changing my brake fluid on my 2014 fr. It hasn’t been changed before. Recently had new discs and pads all round.
Is there a specific process for this and is there anything I need to watch out for? Can a local garage do it or do I need to take to dealers or franchise garage chain like ATS etc.

Thanks

To do it properly isn't really a DIY job. It needs a pressure bleeder and VCDS to activate the ABS system.

Doing it the old school way will only get about half the existing fluid out of the system.

As above you need to trigger the ABS system to do it properly.

Do you not have a local VW group indie ? I'd seek out one of them before looking at genereric fast fit type places.

I used to do brake fluid changes myself but it's one of those things that I know just let a garage do. They have the right kit and the cost isn't too crazy so it just isn't worth the grief of doing it yourself.

I quite agree, with modern cars, I had mine done this month when I had it serviced at main dealer, £49 which I didn't think was too bad.
