Brake fuse location, and centre console is ALIVE

Hello peeps.

need help.

car: mk3 ibiza cool/s 1.4i (2000 model)

1) --------------------
Which fuse number is the brake fuse?

A mate is having issues with the brake lights not coming on, even tho the bulbs are ok.


2) -----------------------
I think there's a post about this somewhere but without a solution.
Basically, the centre headunit console has a life of its' own. After the engine is switched off, the centre console turns itself on after 3 seconds.

it might, or might not be related to teh brake fuse issue, i wont get to vagcom it till a few weeks away....

so, 1) where's the brake fuse...
2) anyone had this before, and fixed it, or found out why it happens..

Brake lights are fuse number 20, and is 7 or 5 amp (says both in the book)

Cheers, just wanted to make sure.
Fuse 20 is right for my mk2, but wanted confirmation for the mk3.

My mate said she'd looked in the handbook, but couldn't find the info.

Anyone have any ideas about the centre console?
(it drains the battery over time which is an issue)

Actually i think its a 7.5 amp fuse, but it is fuse 20.

Hey Thanks Guys,

It appears that the two issues were related after all! I've replaced fuse 20 for the brake lights (7.5amp) And hey presto, no more central console problems! Phew...!
