Brake Light Switch

OK, my Cupra brakes are acting up and I think it could be the brake light switch

Basically a gentle press on the brakes engages the brakes but not the brake lights. If I press harder on the brakes I will get the brake lights to come on, but its at a level of brake pressure that gives more rapid braking than I normally use.

Do you think its the brake light switch, and if so, is easy to get at - I know its plug and play, but I think I have to remove the bottom of the dash to get at it?

Sounds like switch , probably worn and out off adjustment , from memory switch can only be set once as once twisted in it can't be adjusted again , may be wrong
Yea lower dash trim off its only a few torx screws and the fuse box / dash end trim off
30 mins max bits available from euros (Y)

Only question left is, I have ordered the newer green one. I know I don't have to hold the pedal down whilst fitting the switch, but, do I need to pull the plunger on the switch out at all first or is a simple take it out of the packaging and screw into position?

I just normally take it out of the packaging and screw it in.

Done three over the past few years and had no issues

The latest switch just goes straight in, no messing with the brake pedal like the old switches.
