When coming to a stop only, from n/s/f there is a graunching noise, brake performance fine and brakes straight, disk looks fine as do pads, car only done 5k miles, anyone else suffered this problem, dealer looking at car in 2 weeks.

My old Polo used to collect stones that would get stuck between the back of the caliper bracket and disc, and made graunching sounds whenever I pulled away. Just had to take the caliper off and flick the stones out - never any marks on the disc itself, as the stones were never near the pads so weren't being forced against the surface.

Might be worth jacking up the NSF, and slowly turning the wheel by hand to see if you can replicate the noise - also helps to rule out other causes.

Brake pads removed and everything inspected, all checked out ok, but noise still there, so another trip to dealer, really weird problem as noise onky occurs when braking, oh and nitjing in glove box etc rolling around.

Car back from dealer, pads re faced, discs cleaned and pad carrier in caliper lubricated, will monitor, but on a 7 month old car would expect a new caliper
