Hi all,

I am looking at improving my brakes after a few skiddy pants moments as the standard ones aren't up to it really. :drive1:

I am looking at getting drilled and grooved discs along with pads, so im wondering if anyone on here has good experience or opinions of the above for a 2002 LC! [B)]

Cheers for the help guys and girls!!

If your having some fill you pants moments in your car its usually due to a.) the driver or b.) the traction available. But to answer you questions I suggest getting grooved discs instead of grooved and drilled as these will tend to be more reliable with less chance of breaking under heavy loads. The Ferrodo DS2500 pads are well respected and extensively used on this forum so they should be a good candidate to go for.

I recently changed my discs and pads...and i cant beleive the difference.

Tar-ox grooved discs...and Mintex extreme pads. Well priced, and you probably wont find a better pad for anywhere near that money.

really would alter ur choice in pads. Discs are important, but they'r all pretty simular...pads however, very important.

Phone a specialist. Ferodo might have a good reputation, but mintex are better. The new range aswell, the extreme range are brilliant. I Payed £56 for the pads..and they are smooth and stop very, very well. Recomended by westec.

Also, dsics, iv tried discs from a few brands, Ebc, black diamond, tar-ox...And must say, the Tar-ox ones have been most impressive and best quality so far.

plain steel brembo discs will be the best quality.

no holes/lips/scores - just a brake disc

If it was an LCR then id agree...since its not. I would go with an after-market disc. Most after market discs would be fine at a reasonable price.

DS2500 pads are well proven performers and very popular for a good reason. ;)

I especially like the way their grooved disks crack in the root of the machined slots. nice feature

I dont touch Tarox products with a bargepole from personal bad experiences over the years.
