I've seen a few threads on here related to brakes but none quite give a solution to what I'm looking for. I've decided I want to fit MTEC discs front and back and including the pads this will cost about £180 parts. However, whilst there is much choice on the type of pads available at the back (brembo, Red/greenstuff etc), the choice at front on the MTECC website is only Mintex. Going around other websites such as demon tweaks and ferodo, there seems to be very little (if any) choice as the other options specific different braking systems to mine (AP Racing 4 pot).

Therefore, does anyone know of any suitable brake pads that will fit the MTEC discs - which I believe to be the same size as the standards. I've seen Ferodo DS2500 recommended but will they fit?? It's all very well getting fancy discs but if the pads are average (like I'm led to believe Mintex are), there won't be much improvement.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'd do your homework on MTEC discs before parting with cash. They seem pretty hit and miss in reviews and the word is they're just standard discs machined to look the part. As for Mintex pads, you're right to be wary of they're still as bad as the set that came on my car, utterly useless and horrific fade. Keep away from EBC, I've had two sets fall apart, friction material coming away from backing pads. I can however, vouch for Black Diamond discs, had them on mine 5 years and they've performed and held up brilliantly.

I have a pd160 as well and bought the MTEC front and rear discs etc with sports and grooves and must say there **** !!

Ok my Cupra is around 240bhp however the brakes squeak like no tommorow and even has my Mrs asking what the hell is up with ur brakes , I'm gonna leave the rears on and invest in some decent front discs and pads
