Brakes gave way

Hi guys I'm new to this forum ,

I have an 05 LCR that I bought at the beginning of may , a couple of weeks ago I changed the pads and discs all round and today whilst I was driving the brakes gave way , pedal went soft and handbrake pulled right up, the traction control light also came on and has stayed on, I managed to pull into the lay-by checked the brake fluid which was all good then all of a sudden the brakes started working but getting a funny noise from the o/s/r. Does this sound like an abs fault or could it be something else?

When you changed the discs and pads did you excercise the handbrake a few times and also pump the brake pedal a few times??? This will ensure you have taken up the slack after winding in rear caliper & pushing in front calipers

It ended up being a dodgy pad got sent to me the little arm on the padthat holds it in the carrier somehow snapped and the pad fell out and got jammed in between the disc and the hub so contacting the supplier today to sort it out

They were brembos believe it or not

Ive never heard of that happening on a really low end cheap stuff you get in a kinder egg, never mind brembo pads!! Id be straight on to brembo, incase its a dodgy batch, someone could get badly hurt or worse!
