Brakes /vandalism.

Ok folks so took my cupra st in for the update on software for the ambient lights etc.
they sent me a video of any other issues and this has come up !!!
I have driven the car for the past 5k miles. 2 months. Not noticed any issues then they send me this and say they there is copper slip all over the brakes.
I did 85 miles in it before dropping it in. 4 days ago. It’s then been sat in their yard until today.. Monday.
I think it’s been vandalised whilst there. They have just said brakes need replacing. I agree but this is their doing. I think it looks like brand new fresh copper grease.

That's surface corrosion on the inner disc face. The car needs a hard drive out with some heavy breaking and it'll rid most of the rust.

Ill ve never seen anything like that. It was sat for 5 days then just moved a short distance into the workshop. Reckon it’s rust peeled. They sent me a vid and all the discs are same

Exactly that.

It needs a hard drive out and they'll clean up.

It looks like rust, and If someone has slapped a load of copper grease on your brakes whilst your car was in their care, why the hell are they trying to charge you to resolve the issue?

Oh they said on the vid that I’ve put it on there I’ve not even had the bloody thing apart. It’s only done 8k miles

I'll concur with @James_R.

Looks like rust / corrosion from the car being stood for a few days in a wet/damp environment.

It needs an 'Italian tune up'.

Just spoken with the dealership and they have confirmed it’s 100% copper grease !!!
They have requested cctv footage from the time it’s been stored

Did you buy it from them?

Nope been driving it for 2 months no issues. Just took it in there for the software recall and they sent me the video.
I’ll post link up to their vid so if you could approve it mate please so it can post. Or I can pm you.

Shocking if it's been tampered with. More shocking if they can't find the footage (which to me would signal their at fault).

I've learned over the years to take a video of the inside and outside of the car and each alloy wheel prior to handing a car over.

Sometimes they will say just leave the keys with us and I say no, I've taken images and video so someone needs to come out and inspect it as when I pick it up, if it suffers from the video of it sitting on your car park, you're responsible for it.

That usually gets someone with a clipboard out.

This stems from watching a local Skoda garage rag my them Fabia VRS round the roads whilst I was stood outside with a friend

What were doing to have the car up on a ramp and wheels off?

Drilled holes look like they're partially filled with brake dust; I get a similar build up on the drilled disks on my Ateca.

More importantly, there looks to be an amount of copper ease(?) or similar in the centre of the hub; as outlined in purple.

How, when did that get there?

Has this perhaps spun out onto the brake disc with rotation?

Has a wheel bearing been changed and overgreased? Or something.

That was the first time wheels had been off. And didn’t put any on when fitted back on. Had winter tyres fitted. That was just some corrosion from the hub I think.
If it is copper slip on those pads that’s a HUGE amount and there is no way the car would even be drivable.
Like I said I dropped it off there on wed night. Drove it over 85 miles that day and no issues with brakes or abs lights or traction lights so its either not copper slip and someone’s fxxxd up and told me it is to get £1600 quid off me for replacement parts or it is and it’s been put there between last wed and today
