im a newbie on the site and a newbie to the vag and dont realy know much!im after some nice brembos off the leon cupra r or some simler ones.dose any body know if they are a direct fit or do you need to mod any thing? any help or advise would be grate

mk3 cupra ones will be the easyest fit. the disk on the leon are 5 stud

Wheel fitment isn't easy, but almost impossible if you went for the LCR brembos. I'd go with a set of Ibiza R brembos, easy to fit as the Mk3 Ibiza is the same in most respects so it's a simple bolt on job.

Then again, I went crazy and put LCR one on mine

you'll need to change the hub carriers on yours before you do anything..... as the ones on yours (239's) have the calliper carrier cast as part of the hub carrier, so you can't fit larger brakes to your hub carriers

you'll need to get some Mk2 Ibiza hub carriers from either a 2.0 8v or 16v, or even one of the later Mk2 16v Golfs that were fitted with 256's.

another option is to look at twin-pot Audi S2 callipers.... they're a straight fit onto the 256/280 hub carriers

So new hubs will be required

looks like a bit of a tight squeeze. did you have to do any mods to fit them

I had to machine the carrier a little, and obviously put the right number of holes in the disc.... and space the wheel out 5mm

ok thanks for all of your help and advise i think i may have to go with the ibza ones as i am now thinking on fiting 15s instead of 17s!
