Brakes

After seeing the racing brakes, and how the calipers are red... i want to paint mine red when i get the car... i was wanting to have the racing brakes put on but i thought meh... brakes are brakes at end of day goin to be good no matter what. I know how to paint or spray them as myself and friend could do it. but does anyone know where i could get the seat sport decals? Cheaper option

Or can anybody tell me whether these are actually any different to standard decals...meaning are they specialy designed to withstand heat or things like that?

Trust me all brakes are not created equal. I also understand that they are extremely expensive though so the audi TT may be a more financially viable option.

I never skimp on something that could save a life, tires, decent upgraded pads/disk on standard brakes etc. Its not just the engine that makes a quick car.

I saw a vid of a guy in a sorted 1.2 Clio (coilovers, upgraded brakes) owning a standard 182 on a twisty go-kart style track.

as long as they are made for calipers they should be a higher heat resistant vinyl, mine havent had any troubles with them yet

I have some photos of my leon with painted calipers and decals on, can find the decals on ebay, 6 only £1.89 free P+P some will print your own logo under £5, should last for 7 years and heat resistant. only took about an hour each wheel used a engine paint car plan red £5.99 can.

Yeh i know not to skimp on the brakes and which could save a life... just thought not to be adding an extra £20 a month for that extra... like my contract i get new brake pads, tyres and all that when i need them... so its not a problem there. i just like the Seat Sport Decal that is on the brakes, so wanted to spray my calipers and then put them on.

Plus if i do it this way i can choose what colour to spray the calipers! instead of just the red. probably will go with the red though! i like red calipers...

mate the best type of paint to use would be a brush on hammerite paint..if you sprayed it i think it would just flake off..you need a heat resistant paint like hammerite

ah yeh i know mate, i didnt mean to say spray it. haha there is actual brake caliper heat resistant paint so going to get some of that i think. thanks for help though.

Hammerite special metals primer and smooth Hammerite spray.....

Painted my brakes at the weekend, used some red hammerite paint

Will look even better when i get my 312mm disks on next week

Couldnt decide on white or black to match my wheels so decided on one of each and ill swap the carriers so they are opposites.

Yeah hammerite is very good. Did my old 106 GTi brakes when I changed them for 306 GTi-6 ones.
