My Cupra is coming up to being 2 years old and the free breakdown cover will expire, so need to sort something out. Believe the seat assistance is with the AA. Do they contact you to offer you a discount on taking another year with them?

I have just done some shopping around for mine and my wifes Seats. Seat wanted around £85 for each car, for one year extension to AA cover.

Have decided to give Greenflag a try, offering top level personal cover for me and wife on 'any car', as driver or 'passenger' for £85 in total for the year.

Please dont comment on Greenflag performance, as in my experience with other 'reputable' breakdown companies, they all perform a similar service and have positive/poor aspects.

Come on England.....

I got Greenflag that came bundled with my Natwest Advantage gold account but don't have any now as I down graded the acc. to save me £12 ish a month due to car crash :hide:

That Green Flag cover free with Advantage Gold accounts isn't all that great... if they can't fix the car at the roadside then they'll only take it up to 10 miles under the policy, charging you per extra mile to get you home or to a garage.

However, the free annual family travel insurance (inc winter sports) and the free mobile phone insurance (inc iphones) makes the charges for the account worthwhile, I reckon. ;)

I'm pretty sure I have Direct Line's breakdown cover, but can't remember using it so dunno who provides the service for them.

The fixed cost "servicing and maintenance" plan also includes breakdown for the duration of the agreement. So if you have the plan and it outlasts the standard 2 years breakdown you're still covered. I don't know if this is the same on the fixed cost servicing plan though.

My wife worked for Audi customer services for 17 years, which was contracted to the RAC, when she and her department got made redundant they all joined Green Flag, not out of spike but choice. I paid £88 for personal cover for us both.

Try aviva (norwich union) gets over looked but in fact its rac, pay £6.20 a month for me and the wife including home start. This covers us not the cars so if we are in somebody elses car and they brakdown and dont have any cover then we are covered and can call them out.
