Hi,
Going to view and drive my first Leon Cupra (51 reg) tomorrow and I'm intrigued by its colour - Bronze!
Can't say I've seen this colour before and have had my heart set on either a yellow or black one. But then I thought, at least this will be different and not the same as everyone elses!
Anyway, my question is - I don't like the look of the black trims along the bumpers and doors. How easy is it to change these to match the colour of the car?
Cheers.

Easy mate, the trouble will be matching the paint. Any bodyshop worth a mars bar should be able to do that no problem though so don't worry too much about it. I'd expect to pay a couple hundred notes for it (dont forget to do the bottoms of the front and back bumpers too).

Cheers EmDee.
And there was me thinking you could buy them in the right colour - how gullable am I!!!!

Whilst I'm asking questions, Whichever colour i buy, I will be changing the rear wiper for the Fabia, but I was wondering do people change the front ones as well or are they left as standard?

Mines yellow but my mate has the same bronze colour your talking about and it's a beautifull colour, sparkles in the sun when it's clean.

Yeah thats the same picture I found :)
Have also discovered this colour was deleted back in 2002. Does that mean I've had it if I ever need a touch-up/respray?

you can get paint mixed up at a car paint supplier. There is a nice bronze leon that I see at midland VW from time to time. would love this colour myself!
Get some pics up of yours!

I dont have any pics as I dont own one yet.
Am going to test drive a bronze one tomorrow, and the more I look at the pics of it the more it is growing on me :)
I'm also looking on ebay to see how much the extra mod bits cost :)
I think I'm catching the bug :)

I guess you can tell I'm new to all this by the questions I'm asking!
If I replace to HIDs, should I replace ALL the lights? and if so, whats the rough price to do this?

HIDs are easy to fit. took me 30mins. Hadeset part is finding some where to put the blasts!
There is a masive thread on this on here in the FAQs' at the top of the page. worth a good read before buying any thing. The best mod Ive done so far.

OK, just got back from my 1st ever test drive of a Leon Cupra.
The car is Bronze colour on a 51 plate (2001) and up for £2495 from a local garage. It has just clicked 100k on the clock, and I also found out it has had 5 previous owners.

1st impression was the colour - much better in the flesh than on the photo's, even to the point the wife liked it (which is a plus).

Outside,
A few stone chips on the front of the bonnet - to be expected I guess.
The clip which holds the passenger front headlight to the chasis had broken so the light was sitting in slightly - I assume the clip is part of the casing for the headlamp?
The black grille within the bumper had a piece broken - again, just cosmetic.
A bigger than normal exhaust had been fitted which did sound nice but the wife thinks it rattled the car as we were driving.
Other than that, very clean.

Inside,
Flaking on both front inner door handles - not sure if this is wear-and-tear or if they have been painted/covered at some point.
Between the rev counter and speedo there's 2 blank sections which are covered from behind by some type of modesty panel - this has slipped down exposing the inside.
Black masking tape had been applied to where the CD changer sits inside the glovebox - I guess to stop rattling.
The stereo didn't work - needed security code.
Other than that, very clean and tidy inside.

Overall,
Quite impressed with the look and feel of the car but as this is the first one I've ever driven I guess I need to drive another one to compare.
The clutch pedal felt higher than normal or maybe i'm just used to where mine is on my vectra.

The garage didn't have the service book as they were waiting for the previous owner to bring it in.
They have just given it a full MOT.
He wasn't sure about the cambelt but was willing to do this if I was to buy.

I'm put-off by the amount of owners, but I am smitten with the colour!

Any thoughts/suggestions very much appreciated at this point please?????
