Clearly not much to do at work then!

Hose pipe for the tube?....just might be the right size and won't allow light to escape.

Anyway, looks good...just trim the top plate so its round and it will look much neater. You could also use momething like a plastic bottle top to replace the tube and backing plate. Cut the hole and notches in the top and you've saved time in the process making.

Good call on the bottle cap! I like it. Might be a bit wide, but worth a shot. Or something like it anyway.

Pipe stiffeners arrived. Not the right size :( Got 10mm. Thought that was the pipe OD. Turns out its the OD of the little front lip. Argh. See if they do exchanges.

You should have asked me...got 15mm and 22mm so could have given you the measurements. If you got them from Screwfix the yes they will exchange them even if opened.

I was trying to ask but this stupid iPhone 5 crap piece of junk is horrible and Tapatalk wouldn't work. So it got a "f it, I'll just pick these..."
Wasn't screwfix but I'll give it a go anyway

So 15mm it is :)

Ooooo...1000 posts!

The 15mm just needs minor modding to get the lens to fit just inside it as they are the same dimensions. A bit of sand paper around the edge will make the lens fit in...like the photo I sent you.

Has anyone worked out how to wire these so that they are 'switched off' or are at east 1/2 luminance when the dipped beam lights are on.
They are after all DLR's and shouldn't be on when the main headlights are active.

Some of these install pics look great, but some are far too bright at night and will get you pulled due to luminance and the fact they have no directional control so can easily dazzle other drivers

The Audi's dim the DLR's when the indicators are on and I assume do the same or switch them off when the headlights are on.

Yes. Read this thread :)

The Audis only dim with the indicators because the DRLs are right next to them and can cause issues with oncoming traffic from seeing them. In the BTCC vents its not required to do this as they are not by the indicators.

Hi, guys fitted these to mine, seemed alot less hassle to do it with purpose made lights and no mods drilling or gluing required, just bolt on

Each to their own. Alot safer though, many people have gone to pull out on me since fitting and stopped again having spotted the lights prevents accidents. Thats why new cars are required to have them.
