Why do Seat have Cupra modelled Leons in the WTCC and ''normal'' styled cars in the BTCC? Also whats the power difference, if any?

just that the BTCC team bought all the 'normal' bumpers I guess - helps with all their publicity material if the car looks the same as when they 1st started

no power difference from wtcc to btcc really (the wtcc cars have a slightly better spec engine with a couple of bhp more)

Cheers Mork, my programme from Oulton Pk didn't really explain the differences manufacturers can make in BTCC. Other than carrying weights for leading the title, etc are all the Leons/Vectras/BMW/Civic, etc limited to a bhp level and limited to what adjustments they can make to aerodynamics?

Interesting stuff. Know i understand why BMW launched a special 3 series model so it could race in the BTCC/WTCC

Does that make BMW the Chelsea of Tourings Cars? Buying their way in?

Certainly wont win much in the 120d that trundles round at the back

i think BMW called it making the most of the rules, though there was a rumour they'd do a production special to allow them to do pretty much what they wanted in the rules
