Burst Pipe Surprise!

New here, so go easy

Postie arrived this morning and i set about an N249 bypass this evening. After removing the engine covers im greeted with a lovely burst pipe.

Now i need some help... What is it? What does it do? Could this have had any further knock on affects?

Its part of the breather (PCV system) common fault and aftermarket silicon replacement widely available

You dont need it if you install a catch can.

Im thinking of doing the N249 bypass to tidy up the bay and eliminate potential problems,

i know its been ask but is there any reasons NOT to do this delete?

Picked her up last Saturday - N249 and a drilled airbox are the only mods so far, but the postman should be busy this coming week!

What we thinking then, catch tank or silicone?
