Buying a 05 Ibiza Reference 1.4 TDI

Hi guys,

apologies if this has been covered already (I'm crap at using the search function)

I'm going to be looking at a couple of ibiza 1.4tdis this weekend. One is an sx and the other one is a reference...both at garages.

Unfortunately, my mechanic buddies are away on holiday at the moment,so are unable to check the cars over for me.
I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a buyers guide or tell me any common faults to look out for?

Bushes
General wear and tear - Does it look far more worn out than the miles suggest?
Are you able to run a quick vagcom scan?
Rear washer working? If not, probably an easy fix.
Service history? If the 1.4TDi is the same as the 1.9TDi PD, then it needs a certain spec of oil.

I could go on lol.

Is the vagcom scan the device which enables you to check for fault codes etc? If so I have access to that (a family member used to own a 1.4 sport).

Both cars have FSH. What grade oil should the 1.4pd be running

Also is there anything I should be looking out for engine and gearbox wise?
