Alrighty guys,

I'm looking for a used LCR just now.

Apart from the usual checks for dings/general abuse what LCR-specific faults should I look out for?

Ta in advance,

Mark.

Apart from the normal, check the following;

1. Damp carpets caused by door seals or pollen filter housing
2. If the car is near or above 60K miles, cambelt change and water pump change.
3. With the A/C on, check the cooling fan runs on slow speeds. If not and the fans cycle high speed frequently it will need new fans, very expensive if not in warranty
4. Condition of Front pads and discs, LCRs eat them, and they can be expensive from a dealer, although cheaper alternatives are available

Thanks for the advice mate. :)

Above, and rear wash-wipe - if the spray moves with the wiper it's knackered and will probably start leaking into the boot, dripping onto the boot lock knackering that.

Boot lock might already be knackered - check the boot light comes on with the boot open and also lock the car, then unlock it and only open the boot. If the car locks itself (which it's supposed to do if none of the doors have been opened) after 30 secs the boot lock's knackered.
