mileage isn't as much of a value changer as you might think, varies around £150 max per 5-10k miles

sounds like it's done 30k year in first 2 years so flying up and down the motorway as a company, and paid for,car i would guess

leather and satnav were not cheap add-on's mind but nice looking car

i bought a cat D leon TDI FR+ on a 2005 reg 59k miles (CUPRA R BODY KIT) off the salvage which had suffered a flood damage for £4200 it was a drive away. all i had to do were the brake lines which ruptured after 3 months, a faulty power steeering belt tensioner, one previous Doctor owner with full service history.
I THINK HE WANTS TOO MUCH.
Try £5000 or look else where.
Most of these limited edition models are just coming off warrantee so with a bit of soul searching you might find one.

Great, Thanks guys.

Yeah i think you are right about the price. Seems fair to ask for around 6500 max. i would be happy with that. As i asked earlier, is there anything that would need doing to the engine to prolong the life or anything like that?

And Yes Fl@pper it was owned by a company for most of its life so it was motorway miles and it was always serviced at the Seat garages so no problems on that side.

Ninja - I have pretty much decided against the Cat C car because he wasn't moving on the price due to the fact that he had paid £900 for a new turbo only a few months ago and IMHO i think the guy he bought it from didn't tell him it was Cat C so he paid over the odds and doesn't want to lose out too much.

ensure you keep to service schedule, use good quality oil and filtration..

let the turbo warm up and cool down properly after and before using hard.

general good car and use of quality parts.

Yep seems sensible enough.

Well if i can get the finance sorted and get the car for around £6500.

What would you suggest as the next thing to do?

Revo?

FMIC?

Hybrid?

im none too sure about what is best to do.

tbh mate, i would sort the handling out first, then stage 2 map with supporting mods. skip stage 1 if you have the cash.

hybrid would be a nice step, but costly and i think youd be happy with stage 2 mapping.

careful on the clutch on the tdis, well its uprated anyways isnt it.

Oh rite, well the FMIC is a bonus(or will be) :p

so when u say handling, what parts you mean specifically,

also what would i need for stage 2?

handling...

uprated springs and shocks... weitec, kw, koni etc
tt wishbone bushes
s3 lower brace
s3 upper brace
rear arb
quality tyres
4 wheel alignment
quaife diff

costly but awesome

stage 2... usually downpipe and sports cat, or decat in your case. induction kit, or uprated panel filter, uprated dv, uprated tip. maybe 4 bar fpr.

if you pm unclefester he had most of these mods done on tdi, im sure hed be happy to help.

would you not recommend Coilovers then?

and why a decat in my case? doesnt that leave the possibility of a lot more black smoke and a possible fail on MOT?

The guy said that the tyres are pretty awesome, but yeah, they would need changing at some point.

how much would it be for:
tt wishbone bushes
s3 lower brace
s3 upper brace
rear arb
quality tyres
4 wheel alignment
quaife diff

and yeh, i may give him a shout. thanks.

dervs dont have cats mate...

tt bushes £20
s3 lower £30
s3 upper £60
rear arb £150
tyres £400
4 wheel alignment £50
quaife diff....................wait for it £1200 fitted

but it will handle awesome after all this.. trust me.. look in my signiture mate.

wouldnt bother with coilovers mate, youll not have the know how to set them up right (neither would i), youll set them at 1 height and leave them, so a good quality shock and spring combo would be better for road use. and you wont want to go too low with being a derv, as the sump will be wrecked.

really, thats odd. oh well. cheaper than a sport cat anyway isnt it?

thats not too bad for all the first bits.

i assumed the LSD would be that much, was on their site, most of the cost is labour.

how much would a good set of springs and shocks be then.

I think i would leave the diff for a while :p

The exhaust system would be the most expensive mod to get it up to Stage 2 worthyness i guess?

i think i would get an induction kit.(price?)

and in all honesty i'm lost when it comes to uprated dv, uprated tip. maybe 4 bar fpr.

well you could just get free flowing dp and to the middle box, leave the rear box... not essential for stage 2.

yeah diff is 600quid and 600-700 labour

induction kit. go for either green or k&n, dont over oil the k&n though. 60-80quid

uprated dv is an uprated divertor valve(dump valve) forge 007p (searchy)
uprated tip is turbo inlet pipe again search and youll find loads of info on them
4 bar fpr is 4 bar fuel pressure regulator, 3 bar as standard, but some maps.. i.e revo require 4 bar.

now not 100% all this is right on the diesels.... have a trawl through the pm link i sent you mate, most of this will be covered in the guys readers ride... pretty exstensive list of mods on there.

yep, i just noticed that. well i sent him a PM so hopefully things will work out with the car, then the exhaust...

who would you say is the best to do a stage 2 map?

im going to have a look at procongs for all those other bits for stage 2.

you reckon around £1000 for stage 2 inc that 250 exhaust sytem and the remap?

or more/less?

yeah sound about right

where are you based?

stage 2 map £350
exhaust £250
induction £80
tip £80ish
dv £80

leaves enough froma grand to get a rear arb aswell.... you WILL be impressed after that lot

Thats great.

Im based just outside Reading. so i know there is a revo mapper about 10 miles away.

but as i am new to this sort of "scene" i have no idea where to go.
