Yeah that's my worry, this one was just an ex demo so I would hope has had any issues resolved if they came up. Apparently it was driven daily by the dealership manager until he moved to his next car.
So ELSea, looks like your thread was well and truly Hi-jacked, hope you do pursue the ex demo route, I've had mine 6 weeks, its driven superbly without any issues at all, as a cash buyer with a trade in, I got a very satisfactory deal probably the biggest saving possible on new, so please don't be put off by the incredibly outspoken negative commentators who seem to want to dampen every positive comment ever listed on the formentor forum.

And, I can confirm that they paid off my BMW finiance and paid me the balance... phew... :)
Who did you use? I have existing finance that I am looking to sell my car off to pay. I have had a few quotes that match what I am after but wondered what the process for you was like?

Did they inspect the car and lower the price or...?

I sold my car (on PCP) privately and paid off the settlement with that (and a nice little sum left over!). I just gave the finance company a courtesy call before hand to check they didn't have any issues with me doing that, and to see how quickly they could prove to the private buyer that I'd paid it all off.

Motorway.co.uk

I sent them very detailed pictures and was open about scuffs etc to be sure that they were not going to knock me down on price. There was no issue.

They simply paid the balance to my bank account and paid bmw finance directly

Weren't WBAC offering you £37500? Did they drop the offer?
WBAC are at £37,255 currently. They will always try to knock a bit off though (£250 off the last time I used them) and there is an admin fee (which Motorway don’t charge me).
Will find out highest offer from Motorway later today.

Motorway top offer £1000 less than WBAC and less than my guaranteed trade-in price.
Will go with WBAC, car Is spotless so they will be going some to find anything to use to reduce the price.

Update - top Motorway offer now £37k, will take a look at the paperwork.
If it all checks out I’m going to take that.

So my car will be appearing soon at Cox Motors Seat Blackpool if anyone wants a low mileage VZ Edition.
They are collecting it in the next couple of days.

What is the problem with adaptive cruise control? You can set it to more or less the distance you want from the car infront. Tailgating and hassling other drivers from behind is unsafe in any case. If they do anything unexpected, you may plough into the back of them if your too close trying to send them telepathic messages...
I'd have to agree,i find standard cruise is actually a fairly dangerous device especially compared to adaptive which really does help make light work of a long journey.
I wouldn't buy a car without it to be honest.

No, of course the fast Porsche's are DIFFERENT to the Cupra, but for their respective jobs (one being a sports coupe, the other being a tallish hatchback) they are all good at their respective roles.

I just got rid of my 2019 BMW X3 because it was a horrible car to drive, wallowing all over the place and a lungy diesel engine, impossible to drive smoothly, poor fuel economy, big mistake buying that. The Cupra is a far superior car to that BMW. If you would compare the Cupra to any 1 series, A3, Giulietta, Focus etc it would compare pretty well.
I sold my bmw m140i because i hated the way it started and rode...the formentor is light years ahead of it in those terms (plus their was basically no tech at all with the bummer,no active cruise,no reversing camera, etc

I am a Cupra owner no more - car is on its way to Blackpool.
Enjoy your cars folks, there’s a lot to like, just wasn’t for me.

Oh yes, but not as much as I thought I would.
I’ll get that lost cash back though by reducing my costs over the same period even though I’m running two cars instead of one.

How much have you actually lost, accounting for mileage done / months owned? For example, they cost about £400/mo to lease so factor that in.

Going back to the original post (how dare I), but I think now is a pretty bad time to buy a used car. I'm seeing the WBAC etc posts all over car groups and once the new car supply catches up the values will drop again (obviously). I bought/negotiated my car in Feb 2020, just before March "20 plates". My suggestion would be to wait for August. Get into a dealership and try and get a great deal on a 70/21 plate ex-demo, or see what they offer you otherwise. Play the sales target game

It's definitely bad time to buy used car, especially if it's something unique or not very popular. Prices went crazy and some models have prices from 2019, even though they are 2 years older now. SLK55 which I sold in June 2018, would be couple of thousands more now, even though it's 3 years older. Lucky owner with appreciating asset (at least temporary).

I too pay cash plus part ex Peter. I agree, not everyone does pcp. I'm going for an ex demo cupra leon on Sunday. It was reduced quite a lot from new and I've got another £2500 off so if I don't get on with it, I can just move it on. I'm hoping to love it. I rejected the first one collected on Friday 13th. Nothing to do with the infotainment system though. More shoddy dealer not preparing the car properly
Glad to hear that you are enjoying yours

Elsea I always buy pre reg or ex demo as I am too impatient to wait for a factory order and I like the saving too.
I can't see how it's a bad time to buy if you already have one. I recently sold a merc cla45 for more than I bought it for a few weeks before and the one I'm buying has been reduced from the price on autotrader. They are not all selling at their inflated asking prices. I got a very good price when I sold my cla45 but the dealer who bought it is being greedy so it's still for sale.
