Exactly. Thats the way I see it. The only reason insurance dont like you modding is cos if you have an accident and have aftermarket wheels on for example - they cant just buy one (like if it were a genuine wheel) they have to buy a full set. so imo - if it's Seat parts - it's ok. bad look on it i know.

I totally agree! Like I say - its your policy.

I've found the engineers dont tend to know what they're on about. They obviously can't know every spec of every car on the road so can't notice little bits. Tbh the engineers we have come to look at smashed cars never really even lift the bonnet. And they dont have a clue about suspension and stuff.

They just agree/disagree with what the bodyshop has normally quoted for. The only thing they really change is the time to do a job or if they can have a wheel because it's got a slight scratch on it or something.

well not really, I dont think they would be too botherd or even notice that its a diffrent bumper if its a seat bumper. The chances of them relising that its not the right bumper for the year is slim.

standard SEAT bumpers i can understand you not telling them about (we put face lift bumpers on BMW/MINIs at work all the time), but when it comes to remaps etc id rather let them know then run the risk!

I definitely would notify with coilovers or turbo conversions and stuff. But remap is none traceable practically. But it's good you think that way! You think the genuine - honest man way!

Wish mine had that mileage! :-o Done about 14,000 in mine just over a year!

Fun engines though aren't they!

:D

lol lightweight:D ive got 13000 on mine in 6 months and i only travel 100miles a week to work and back lol but then again im just a torque *****

most insurance compnaies don't replace non standard parts, my insurance compnay class ANYTHING that was not standard as a mod whether t makes the car fast or not whether oyu can even see it or not. They charged me £18 for VRS alloys but won't replace them if they are stolen or damaged you just pay extra cos the car is more stealable!

Excellent news on the change! I had a 1.2 Punto as a hire car while my Sport was in the garage & the difference.......was laughable. The Punto felt dog slow - I imagine the Ibiza 1.2 is the same.
I think your attitude to informing insurers is very commendable. I have the same outlook - it's not worth the risk. Just declare any changes & then there is no way they can wriggle out of paying out if anything should happen.

As for mileage Ibiza 130TDI, I wish I did 13000/yr! I bought my Sport at just over 3yrs old. By the time i drove home in it, it just ticked over to 24k miles (in 3 yrs!!) and in the first 12 months I stuck 30k miles on it!! 3 services in 1 yr, really makes you notice!! I've now had it 17months & it's up to 65k miles. so I've done 41k miles in it...........touch wood.......without a hiccup.

Looks mint bud, I am thinking of getting one but in Red 06 plate. I gonig Test drive but I dunno how much different It will be from the F Sport 1.4?

If it’s any thing like the step from the 1.2 it’s so unbelievable!! the step from the f/s got to be better as you get more power and a huge fuel saving!!

at the end of the day its been 2years of hard saving, lack of social life to get my new baby not going to risk it, its just not worth it.

i had my 1.2 for a year and i had put 31k on it and i only use it at weekends as i live just over the road from work!!

31k in a year, used at weekends!

WTF

did you drive round the country every weekend?

lol pretty much lol. i tend to do 300-500 miles a weekend driving to my girlfriend (80 mile round trip) for a start then as i live in the middle of no where everythings a bit of a drive!

ooooo all this power talk makes me jealous!!:headhurt
I love my new 1.4 compared to my old corsa. But the MPG are not cool at all.
Can't wait to build up my no claims and get a FR or maybe a cupra we shall see.
