Wow this thread has got busy since I posted it!

I agree on the looks being too agressive for some. But also that's why I got it as the LCR was to far the opposite. But as already said it might attract the wrong sort of attention.

Not sure what mods to do to it. Will prob keep it standard for a while and see how it goes. On the test drive car it felt pretty rapid.

Depends how much you wanna spend the Mountune upgrade is good and can keep the warranty think its about £2.5k though fitted,imagine what it would sound like with an after market exhaust on as well though oooohh!!!!

Well finally made the choice to get rid of my Cupra. Its been a great car but felt it was time for something new. I was split between the Focus RS or the new LCR. Couldnt really bring myself to get the LCR though as its a lot of money for a car thats almost identical. So i will be picking up a brand new unregistered Focus RS i found in 2 weeks time!

Can understand your reasons behind not buying a NEW Cupra, considering you already own a Cupra (even if it is a pre-facelift variant). Hence going for a different car...

Although, while alot here seem to think a Ford RS is a far superior car, I disagree. At least your Cupra has pride, sophistication, CLASS! ...with still decent performance.

For me, the "blistering" performance of an RS doesn't mean everything. I find the car ugly to look at, very angular, and just big and bulky. It does shout out, I want to be noticed, so I've bought a Ford Focus on drugs (big bulky square bodykit). Plus usually comes in some garish colour scheme to complete the package.

For the money, you want to be driving around in a 'class' performance car, you'd look to Audi, Nissan, Porsche, or dare I say BMW.

You want to be respected by the McDonalds boy racer crowd, you buy a Ford RS (along with "Kev & Tracy" window sticker plus furry dice)! Or perhaps this IS the image you are trying to attain?

Don't forget this is MY OWN opinion, and not that of the general public who all absolutely love the Focus RS. It's a marmite thing.

If I paid thousands for a new car and someone said they didnt like it, I couldn't care less, it was my choice and my money, but I'd be happy with any discussions either way...

Good job we are not in Iraq or Afghanistan, I'd by stoned or hung for coming out with such slander! hmmm. Chill out for fcuk sake!

The RS will not doubt hold its value more than any LCR ever will - it's loud and in your face, but that's the point of the RS!

You should jump on over to passionford mate, the best ford site by far, been on there for many years now. Like people say its nice to have owned a RS, ive had a sapphire cosworth and recently had a Escort Cosworth. You either love them or hate them. cant post any pics yet or i would put a few up.

I do realise it's not to everyones tastes. But a simple i don't like Fords would have done.

As for mc donalds I prefer burger king!

Have a look to see how much mk1 rs are selling for these days, i would say any rs ford holds its value better than most, ford have always know how to make a good fast car from factory. Personally i think seat have lost the plot with the looks department and fast cars.

Yea hold value better than most in the long run,can pick them up for £20-£21k now,i am and always will be an RS fan just sold my S1 RST and my favourite cars an Escort RS1600,SNOWSURFER you will love it TOP car!

Finally picked it up ! The snow stopped me getting it!

Does the Revo select switch work on other cars or is it tied to my old Cupra ? As if it will work im gonna sell it.
