At least its sorted Jon, I'm going to avoid stopping in traffic too much now haha.
suspension and brakes need buying for track time this year

Finally had some time to get back on top of the car. Aside from the yearly oil change and cam follower. Vagbremtechnic j-hooks for the rear and Ferodo DS2500 pads for the rear.

Then decided I'm sick of the RNS315 and out of date SatNav. Time for some Wireless Carplay action:

I’ve been lurking for ages, wondered where you had gone mate.

Great stereo that, had one in mine it’s not in my van.

Welcome back lol so what other stuff can we get you to buy haha

Not sure at the moment. I'm needing two new front tyres before summer. I'm wondering whether to try semi slicks. Something like Michelin Cup 2 or those R888 things or whatever they called.

Wheel refurb has stalled, no one seems to want to do a custom colour at the moment.

I've just hit 67,000 miles... so wonder if timing chain and tensioner should be on the list.

I'm also divided whether to get the Recaro's as the R seats are just so nice!

Hi Jon nice to see you back mate
Good choice have fun fitting it

Cheers. It's actually already in ,but it was too dark to do any pics :ROFLMAO:. As another bonus, you can change the button colour, so of course they are now blue.

Spent most of my time moving and chasing insurance companies after SL2 got fire bombed.

Only thing it doesn't do is integrate with the front and rear parking sensors... but they still beep before I hit summat. (y)

Well that sounds like a nightmare for SL2. I keep looking at the meet sections as I’d be keen to meet up again.. although given my car is now French I may not make it.

Either way I’m happy that you’ve still got the Cupra R.. I did wonder if it had gone.

Unfortunately it was, because the insurance had only just started, they took their full years premium - and as it was my 20 year old sons insurance, it completely wiped the value of the car.

I believe @Jimbobcook is looking into meets at the moment. As far as I can tell, all restrictions seem to be gone now fingers crossed for good.

Yeah, I'm just glad SL1 wasn't parked there that night.

Cheers. Oooo, yeah, I like what you've done with it!! Nice touch with the badge and Cupra lettering! Might steal that idea. :ROFLMAO:
I thought it was brilliant idea, I've done the cupra r exhaust conversion now finally and looks quite aggressive with the huge 4 inch tips

Clutch is holding pretty well. Feels exactly like stock (not like the Helix that feels like a leg press machine). What clutch you using?

The engine mounts on the other hand are another story... the engine mount bracket failed (and folded) causing the engine to sag on one side, pushed the cambelt cover into the cambelt and damaged the belt and waterpump.

I'm still stock clutch but wanted something that can hold power and not be heavy or snappy so might go for your setup, who sourced and fitted it all for you? And that's bad news mate about the engine mounts

Did I hear a voice in the background saying ‘I’m a bit sad’?
That was like me and my lad when I watched someone drive away in my VRS after having it 13 years from brand new.

What? Have you sold it?
Or have you filmed a burglary?
Yeah, I sold it. Was a hard decision, so I had to rip the band aid off and just let it go quick. Shame really as it had Pilot Sports 4Ss less than 6 months old and a top of the range Pioneer head unit I fitted in December. Hopefully someone will get to enjoy them.
