Still having on going issues with my climate control, it seems not to know what the actual cabin temperature is! i.e. If I set the temp at 20 degree's in the summer it will blast out ice cold air for a minute or so, then the fans will go to minimum speed and cold air stops before 20 degrees is achieved, then the cabin just gets hotter and hotter, similarly in the winter it blows out hot air for a short period of time then heater controls go to minimum before the cabin has reached a comfortable temperature. Does it have an interior temp sensor if so where?

Cheers,
Kev.

Normally there is a sensor in the front of the dash under some kind of venting, I have not had my Altea very long and I can't picture this without going outside to have a look.
Be worthwhile hoovering it out if you can find it, dust could be causing it to get a false reading.
Also, a climate control reset may help, press and hold a couple of buttons, I forget right now, google that too.

Bit of a daft question but have you had any problems with the external temp display? ours went haywire and it sent the heating doolally too. for instance, last October external temp was around 10 degrees, display said it was 45, so no matter how high you set heating it still tried to cool car down, it was bloody freezing! had a new probe fitted under warranty.

Thanks for the replies, no the outside temperature reading on the dash seems to be pretty accurate and yeah
thats what I am looking for some sort of sensor behind a vent or something, be helpful to know where to look :)

Sorry to dig this one up again! Had my car in for a service yesterday at a Seat main dealer, and while they had it I ask them to have a look at my climate system which still isn't working properly! They came back with no fault codes found, even though my vents seem to be permantly closed at times with the fan going full pelt and no air coming out? Or alternately the fans stop vents close and I sit and either cook or freeze depending on the season! They said they could have it back in for further investigation but would not be drawn on the cost involved They just presented me with another whole list of other work that needs doing on the car. My question is is the diagnostics the same for the whole car i.e. when they say they have run diags does that cover everything or is the aircon system a separate entity??
I personally think it is the well reported flaps issue but have no idea how to test or fix it and the dealer didn't seem really interested unless I committed to spending an undisclosed amount of money!
I would love to sort it out but being a 2004 model I don't won't to spend a fortune! Also starting to wonder whether to give it up as a bad job and start looking for a new motor slightly sooner than planned
