Some very good numbers mate, 326 on their Facebook pic for stage 1 but I doubt they'd realise it at that, probably a bit less for reliability issues. One of the apr comments said their S3 made 360 which is still very good but the gap between the two turbos isn't much so it must be something else that's restricting the cars

Yes mate the gap between the two types of turbos. If the gti made 326 I'd expect the cupra etc to make more than 360 but these are only stage 1 figures so it must be some other hardware piece holding the cupra back

I wouldn't have thought so ?
If you compare the mk6 gti to the mk6 golf then there are similar gaps

There maybe better intercoolers on the R letting the power be sustained more but I can't see where other restrictions are coming from unless the R uses bigger injectors and more aggressive mapping , the air Intakes look similar so the fueling I don't think is going to be a restriction.
I went to see an R yesterday and I have a test drive of a manual and dsg next Saturday back to back so I will do a bit of snooping under the bonnet to see if anything sticks out.

Rob, assuming you meant to say golf R and not just golf but that's comparing an IHI against a ko4, you need to it from mk5 to R or ed30 for the gap between turbos I mean. I could be talking dribble but I'd be annoyed if my R was only 30bhp better after mapping than a gti

Yep S1 is same engine as golf gti
So after I specced up the car I wanted it came I. Around £29k !
And discounts were about £1200

Yep I meant golf R
I still think there is going to be a 60 bhp difference between the 2 cars once they are mapped.
The only thing that concerns me is the engines are reaching their usable max bhp hence why vw switched to IHI which still gives the drivability.
Vaux realised this with the vxr which already has the boost wound up so there are no minimal gains on the Astra after a remap.

I think i will be more then satisfied with stage 1 ecu 360 bhp, In my mk3 cupra.
I wonder what the 100-200 km/h time would be with that power??

The ones in stockholm can only do stage 1 ecu...No hardware.

Any news at the cai front??, Just read that Apr due to release port flash any time soon for cupra and golf R. And got an email from milltek that they have a test car some where in "europe" with their 3 inch on. Release info comming very soon.
