Iv got a MK1 leon cupra R.
My calipers have faded and the laquer is peeling off in places.
Whats the best paint to use? Was thinking of just using red hammerite in a spray can?!

If you clean them up as well as possible, get as much faded lacquer off as you can, I believe you can just re lacquer them and it'll bring the red right back again. Saves buying brembo stickers afterwards.

I will be very surprised if re-lacquering will make it come us as red as respraying!! Mine were like that and the red had gone a browny colour and I rubbed then down and resprayed with halfords red caliper paint and they came up great. Then I just bought some decals off eBay and they look as good as new.

They look surprisingly good for a re lacquer. I don't think that would have worked as well for mine as a respray though plus respraying them red makes them come out a more vivid red. Also my decals were in poor condition too so respraying and sticking on new decals gave the best result. Caliper paint requires on lacquer so its no different to re lacquering apart from applying new decals afterwards.

Yeah mine are just like that 747. I see what i can do.
What size decals did you get? I did have alook on ebay but theres different sizes!

Thanks guys
